Identify new business opportunities within national and regional sales territories. Qualifications::

Candidate must have proven experience in a direct hunting sales role. You must be able to demonstrate your ability to identify, qualify and generate new business. A qualified candidate will have 1-3 years of solid, B2B sales experience preferably in the technology arena. Experienced and professional communication skills both oral and written are a must. You must also be able to work in a fast paced, team environment with revenue deadlines. A track record of success and recent experience is required. A college degree is preferred. What you will be doing:

The Regional Account Manager III position is a senior level sales position. The position requires prospecting and cold calling in North America to NetCentric customers, such as web hosting companies, universities, ISPs, video gaming companies, etc., with the goal to meet and exceed established revenue objectives. Candidate will direct call on new customers and analyze client needs relative to Internet connectivity over our unique, in building, Fiber Optic infrastructure. Direct quota bearing responsibility on a monthly and quarterly basis is required.
What we are looking for:

Candidate must have proven experience in finding new business. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 3-5 years of quantifiable, successful telecommunications sales experience in a wholesale environment. A track record of success and recent experience in this environment is required. Experience with selling Internet connectivity (FEs, GigEs, 10GigEs) and colocation required. A college degree is preferred. Proficiency with PC based applications such as Word, Excel, and Siebel a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and maintaining the Cogent DWDM/SONET network elements and IP networks through the use of management tools, in order to ensure that it is operated in accordance with the standard NOC procedures.
• Determind the cause of network issues and troubleshoot using industry standard methods. Initiate corrective action through provided tools.
• Resolve problems through escalation when appropriate.
• Participate in administrative duties.
• Interface with customers and vendors as required to maintain high network availability.

Qualifications:

• 2 or more years working in a NOC or ISP. Strong IP technical background, excellent oral and customer service communication skills and an ability to work in a team environment. Thorough understanding and experience with WAN protocols and circuits.

Required Skills:

• IP Networking knowledge including networking protocols (BGP, IGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS...), IP addressing, DNS and IP-VPNs is required.
• Experience troubleshooting Frame Relay, Sonet and OCx.
• Cisco hardware troubleshooting experience with Remedy, Netcool or other network/hardware.
• Monitoring software and ticketing system.
• Two years experience minimum on the management of Telecom Networks based on DWDM/SONET and IP.
• Availability to work on 2nd shift hours 4 days.
• Technical vocation, good team worker and capacity to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

Preparation of state and local tax returns including sales and use taxes and property taxes in the United States

Monitoring the Company’s tax compliance activities including communicating with Federal, state, & local authorities

Research, advise and opine on state and local sales and use tax compliance requirements

Coordination with outside consultants tax advisors

Assisting in the development and improvement of policies and procedures

Assist with documentation and compliance requirements associated with transfer pricing policies and procedures in the United States, Canada and Europe

Partner with and report to senior management on a periodic basis

Educational & Experience Requirements

3-5 years of state and local tax preparation experience

Cogent Communications is seeking an enthusiastic professional to be the new Data Center Engineer at 4505 Glencoe in Marina del Rey, CA. This Data Center is manned 24x7x365. The Data Center Engineer opening we have is for the 2PM to 10PM, M-F shift. Applicant has to have experience in the Internet industry, specifically with data center operations. Person must be able to multi-task and project manage daily operations in the Marina del Rey Data Center.

Applicant’s main goal is to provide excellent service to Cogent’s colo customers. The applicant is responsible for every facet of the colocation.

He/She must have a knowledge of cabling and basic internet processes, as they will be required to perform various types of work orders, from 100meg orders to fiber x-connects.

He/she will be responsible for the daily upkeep of not only the colo, but also the facility itself. The Data Center Engineer will have to manage and update various Hosting Operations databases, spreadsheets, access badge systems, and other programs related to the colo.

An essential aspect of the job is to work with and manage contractors who will work within the facility, such as HVAC, Fire system, and Generator vendors. From billing issues to submitting purchase order requests, all contractor work in the Marina del Rey facility will be managed by he/she.


Listed below are some of the daily tasks required for the job:

Provision Work Orders (Allocate cabinet, cross connect to circuit, test circuit, have electrician install special power if required)

Work Remedy Tickets (For Access, Environmental Issues, etc.)

Maintain DCDB (Cab/Rack inventory)

Generate PO requests for PMs & repair work

Manage/Schedule PM & repair work with vendors

Update PO tracking sheet

Maintain C*Cure access card database

Open NMPs for maintenance and repair work

Work on special projects when they arise (past projects- HVAC Augmentation, UPS Augmentation)

Acquire/renew preventative maintenance contracts

Manage Bi-monthly Generator test
