Cogent Peering Strategy

Cogent has pre-negotiated a number of arrangements with third parties who have agreed to exchange traffic with Cogent. Over 95% of Cogent's traffic goes across private peering connections. These agreements provide Cogent customers' traffic with a more direct route to its destination, thereby improving their experience on the Internet.

Cogent's unique network architecture enables Cogent to set up private peering in virtually every facility connected to our network including data centers and carrier hotels with which we connect. Here are just some of the locations at which we connect to many of our private peers.
